The selected candidate is responsible for installation, configuration and administration of the Tableau server on AWS platform :

Job Responsibilities :

- Add users, user management along with Security regulations.

- Create/Manage Groups, Workbooks and Projects, Database Views, Data Sources and Data Connections Create/Modify/Manage server task schedules

- Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements

- Upgrade server software, work with other groups on infrastructure upgrades/changes

- Work with project manager as necessary regarding issues such as server down-time, versioning

- Configuring Tableau Server to work with AWS data sources

- Perform installation, migration and upgrade of Tableau Servers and Desktops under High Availability scenario

- Perform performance analysis of existing Tableau Servers and make Best Practice recommendations

- Perform day to day administration of Tableau Servers in Citrix environment :


1. Manage sites and projects

2. Configure and manage project permissions

3. Provide periodic reports on Tableau Server usage

4. Publish Tableau workbooks and data extracts

- Configure and maintain Active Directory integration with Tableau Server

- Configure and troubleshoot Single Sign On (SSO) issues for Tableau Server

- Provide 2nd tier support to user community on various Tableau Server and Desktop issues

- Create Tableau related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

- Gateway firewall

- Create/Manage Groups, Workbooks and Projects, Database Views, Data Sources and Data Connections

- Add/Edit Sites and corresponding administration rights (System vs. Content)

- Create/Modify/Manage server task schedules

- Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements

- Run cleanup and create backups of the database

- Upgrade server software

- Enforce policies; assist users with workflows

- Work with program manager as necessary regarding issues such as server down-time, versioning

- Provide Tableau support to users

- Set up documentation for policies & procedures (workflows) in SharePoint tabs for:

- Administering the servers

- Licensing

- Types - Viewer; Interactor; Guest

- Analysis of Logs and Temporary Files

- Report publication (from QA to PROD)

- Approval process of who (guest, Group, etc.) can view what (workbook, Project, etc.)

Required qualifications to be successful in this role :

- 3-5 years of Tableau Administration experience

- 3-5 years of SQL and PL/SQL experience Plus

- Experience working with various data source like Oracle, SQL Server, MS-Access, SharePoint.

- Experience working with AWS Plus

- Experience migrating Tableau to AWS or administering Tableau in an AWS environment

- Good communication skills

- Excellent understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Load Balancer and Network firewall

- Experience configuring Single Sign-on (SSO) with SAML authentication

- Proficient in Tableau command line utility

- Good understanding of database concepts including writing SQL statements

- Strong troubleshooting skills

- User issues faced in different Tableau applications developed in Tableau Desktop

- Issues related to Tableau Desktop

- Communicating with Tableau users whenever required

- Handling Issues related to .TDE files

- Handling Issues related to background queries

Education Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
