- Strong Engineering Background, preferably someone who has managed the engineering for both HW SW product and not just a HW [or] SW product.

- Solid technical understanding or hands-on experience in both software and hardware development

- Excellent internal communication skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Familiar with Agile Methodology for Software Development and concept of Sprint Cycles

- Familiar with Rolling Wave Methodology, Work Break down structure, Waterfall Development Methodology, Theory of Constraints and Lean for Hardware Software Product Development

- Understanding of Product Integration between the different engineering teams and different Product Release Methodology for Hardware and Software

- Strong at not only Idea generation but also at idea implementation and execution

- Knowledge of production: SW - Continuous Integration | Releases | Customer Release management HW - DFx | FEMA | Standards for PCB Manufacture Complete hands-on expertise at C programming

- C++ programming experience is a plus

- Algorithm development for extraction of data from multiple visual sensors and Sensor Fusion

- Ready and Self-motivated to experiment with hardware and embedded systems - Hardware Interfacing with multiple microcontrollers and microprocessors like R4, M3, M4, ATmega, A8 and high level IoT Hardware

- Experience at building and handling code bases with a multi layered architecture with high software life expectancies

- Experience at handling device drivers, Hardware Abstraction Layers, Application Abstraction Layers and multiple Application Design

- Expertise at handling huge code bases and designing of multi layered architecture with software life expectancy to maximum

- Brilliant knowledge of embedded systems with bare-metal as well as RTOS

- Programming in Linux Environment, even at basic level, is a plus

- Interfacing of Sensors and Actuators (LIDAR, 10 D.O.F. IMUs, Infrared, Laser)

- Usage of communication protocols such as SPI, MIBSPI, i2C, Embedded Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, ZigBee

- Knowledge of Power Systems and Battery Management System

- Knowledge of Wireless Systems is a plus


- Understanding of what is type testing and what is certification - what and why (NOTE: If you are unaware about certifications and testing required for an outdoor/military/automotive product, should have the level where he/she can understand and figure out the same)

- Basic knowledge of ISO standards

- Should have the ability to research into the standards that are applicable to CRON's products

- Should have the ability to pick up from the bucket list which standards need to be complied based upon the end user requirements as well as end user use

- Proper quantisation of specifications of the products and meeting of those specifications with technology

- Product Quality Control and Quality Assurance Plans which are not for production but more from point of view of product


- Act as a bridge between upper management and engineering teams tasked with the actual execution of product

- Assist, develop and verify sound product scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders ensuring technical feasibility followed up with a project plan for the product to track progress

- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in product scope, schedule and costs

- Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation that could be shared with clients, engineering teams and upper management - Maintain detailed up-to-date product documentation at all times

- Understand the product Vision from the CEO and CTO and then convert the same into a feasible product that could be deployed at the field to fulfil the requirements of :

- Brainstorming sessions with the engineering Head of Departments to convert product problems, field problems and business requirements to viable engineering and product solutions

- Day to Day research and development and subsequent execution by engineering team

- Invention of IP as well as making sure that all product problems and requirements are closed by the engineering team

- Making sure that the engineering team can evaluate what is to be executed and what is to be put in the bucket list to fulfil the requirements of the product

- Make sure that the end product can be type tested and certified

- Enable a coordination between the engineering teams and the Vendors/OEMs/System Integrators to take the product to production readiness

- Establish processes for product integration between different engineering teams - Create release processes and handle new releases for the product


- End to end planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting on a Product - Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of Product

- Measurement of Project Performance/Progress with appropriate processes and reporting/escalating regularly to the executives on the progress of the product and that its divergence from the approved schedule

- Ensure resource availability and allocation - coordinate with all engineering departments to ensure all aspects of a product are compatible and hire new talent as needed to fulfil product needs

- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors/OEMs/System Integrators - Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors/OEMs/System Integrators for the flawless execution of the project

- Perform risk management to minimize project risks

- Creation, laying of the foundation and execution of strong processes in the technical organisation that would lead to the smooth execution of the project plan by the engineering teams as well as a business team

- Day to day update on the project from the engineering teams

- Make the product scalable

- Design and Develop the Firmware device drivers, HAL, AAL and algorithms for the CRON defence holistic solution

- Create appropriate Sensor Fusion Algorithms to detect intrusions with maximum Detection Probability and lowest False Alarms

- Integrate and form a bridge between the hardware and the high-level software for next generation of visual sensor fusion like Lidars and Thermal Imagers

- Design applications which can handle multiple deployment topologies and architectures with minimal changes

- Design for the deployment of the Firmware during the next installation phase

- Design for maintenance of the Firmware for post-installation phase

- Create a relationship with these technology companies and use their product offerings where possible for CRON's products

Vendors and OEMs :

- Build rapport and a great working relationship with vendors and OEMs as per CRON's requirements
